Country Jam forms of Advertisement
Billboard
This will reach the target audience because the target audience can drive therefore they will be on the road and be able to see the billboard. I intend this to be the first piece of the campaign that the viewer sees and this will lead them to either the web sight or to pick up a one of the brochure’s.
Brochure
I plan to have brochure’s at the local country radio stations and at some of the restaurants around town. The brochure will have the line up of the singers on it and when they are going to be singing. This way people can come to see the singers that they want to see sing. This part of the campaign will give the consumer the chance to have some piece of physical paper to hold on to that will remind them of the event.
Website
The website will be there so that once the viewer has seen one of the other forms of advertisement and want the have more information about the event they will be able to retrieve it. This will help the rest of the ad’s and mainly give more information.
County Jam

What is the purpose of this project?
The purpose of this project is to inform people when the event is taking place, where the event is taking place, and who will be at the event.
What are you hoping to achieve?
With this advertisement I am hoping to inform people when this event is taking place, where this event is taking place, and who will be at the event.
Who is the audience for this campaign?
The intended audience for this campaign in mostly teenage to young adults. At the very largest I would have to say 16 to 40 year olds. Mainly people that are interested in country music.
What is the core message?
The message that I am trying to send with this campaign is informative. I want county music fans to know about the event that is going to take place. I think that this is a good way to see lots of singers at one place and the price is good for the singers that will be there.
What is the point that you want the viewer to walk away with?
I want the viewer to walk away knowing the dates that the event is taking place and where the event is taking place.
What do you want the audience to do?
I want the viewers of the advertisements to know when the event is and plan to attend the event.
How will the audience benefit from what your selling?
I believe that that the audience will benefit form coming to country because they will get to see some of the top names in country all in one spot and will not have to attend many different concerts to see the stars that they want to see. This way they will about the price of one concert to see 4 days worth of the top country singers.

Vacuum ad from Germany

1)What is the purpose of the ad your bringing in?
The purpose of this ad is to sell vacuum’s.
2)Who is the intended audience?
The intended audience of this ad would be women that are looking to buy a vacuum. I say women because this ad is showing that women are in charge of the the house.
3)What does the advertisement look like?
This ad is a picture of of a women with high heals on and one foot on top of a vacuum. The women has a man tied up. Both of them are not wearing very many clothes.
4)How does the visual and textual content of the ad work together to create a persuasive argument?
There in not any text on this ad. The only thing that is close to text on this ad is an X with a circle around it in the bottom right hand corner.
5)Which of Neumeier’s Seven levels of communication are prominently used in this ad?
This ad mainly uses the sensation level of communication. This is a very sexual ad in terms of the pose that the figure is in and the amount of clothes that are both wearing.
6)What are the cultural values promoted in this advertisement?
I believe that the cultural values in this ad are that in our society sex sells and thats what this ad is doing.
7)What works or doesn't work about this advertisement?
I don’t think that this ad works very well at all. I can see how this shows that women can be more dominate over men at times and not have to stay at home and clean the house. Other that this I don’t really see how this ad works for selling vacuum’s.
Herald Towers Real Estate

1)What is the purpose of the ad your bringing in?
The purpose of this ad is to sell real estate.
2)Who is the intended audience?
I would say that the audience for this ad is a younger couple who is looking to buy real estate or change form the company they already have.
3)What does the advertisement look like?
The ad has two figures in it. There is a woman sitting on a man’s back and it looks as tho she is riding him like a horse or just spanking him, it is hard to tell. Either way the women is meant to have the power in the decision of what real estate company to choose.
4)How does the visual and textual content of the ad work together to create a persuasive argument?
This was a two page ad and i only have the half with the image on it. the other page of the ad had the text on it. So since there is no text i can’t really answer this question.
5)Which of Neumeier’s Seven levels of communication are prominently used in this ad?
This ad mainly uses the sensation level of communication. This is a very sexual ad in terms of the pose that the figure is in and the amount of clothes that the man is wearing. They are also laying on a bed which could also be a sexual reference.
6)What are the cultural values promoted in this advertisement?
I believe that the cultural values in this ad are that in our society sex sells and thats what this ad is doing.
7)What works or doesn't work about this advertisement?
I don’t think any part about this ad works. Two people on a bed laying on top of each other really has nothing to do with real estate. Therefore i don’t think this ad works.
Sony Play station

1)What is the purpose of the ad your bringing in?
The purpose of this ad is to sell the sony play station 2.
2)Who is the intended audience?
I think that the intended audience of this product would be teenagers. Mostly teenagers that are interested in playing video games.
3)What does the advertisement look like?
This ad has a girl in that ad that is covered in gold. This girl is on a bed the bed is has pillows on the bed and that are in the shape of the the buttons on a play station controller. The girl is in a very revealing night gound.
4)How does the visual and textual content of the ad work together to create a persuasive argument?
The only words in on the entire ad are in the upper left conner. The text only says ps2. The text has hight contrast with the rest of the ad so therefore the text works well in the ad. The only problem with the text is the size. It could be a little bigger.
5)Which of Neumeier’s Seven levels of communication are prominently used in this ad?
This ad mainly uses the sensation level of communication. This is a very sexual ad in terms of the pose that the figure is in and the amount of clothes that she is wearing. Another one that this ad uses is identification. The way that this is used is in the brand. The viewer would have to identify the brand and their type of product to be persuaded to buy the product.
6)What are the cultural values promoted in this advertisement?
I believe that the cultural values in this ad are that in our society sex sells and thats what this ad is doing.
7)What works or doesn't work about this advertisement?
I think that this ad works well and is very creative. The only thing that I would change about this ad is what I stated before is making the text bigger.
Calvin Klein

1)What is the purpose of the ad your bringing in?
The purpose of the Calvin Klein is to sell their clothing. I think jeans are the main product that they are selling in this ad.
2)Who is the intended audience?
The intended audience of this ad would be women who are looking to buy jeans from Calvin Klein.
3)What does the advertisement look like?
This ad has a picture of a women in the jeans and she appears to be crawling on a bed the is next to a window that over looks the city. The girl is wearing the jeans and a very small top that shows a lot of skin.
4)How does the visual and textual content of the ad work together to create a persuasive argument?
I think that the image and text work well together. The text is some what over lapped on the the figure in the image. The color differences allows the text to be read clearly. Over all I think that ad works very well.
The viewer would have to identify the brand and their type of clothes to be persuaded to buy the product.
6)What are the cultural values promoted in this advertisement?
I believe that the cultural values in this ad are that in our society sex sells and thats what this ad is doing.
7)What works or doesn't work about this advertisement?
I don’t see any thing that does not get the point of this ad across to the viewer. So I think that ad is doing what they intended it to do.

Grand Junction In 1000 Words

Well first of all the reason that I am in Grand Junction Colorado is to attend Mesa State College. At Mesa State College I am studying graphic design and playing on the baseball team. I am a junior in school and an senior on the baseball team. I really like the town of Grand Junction.
One of the reasons that I like Grand Junction is the size of the town. I think that the size is great. It is not to small or too big. I have lived in a town much smaller (Lamar Colorado) and a town much bigger (Denver Colorado). I lived in Lamar for two years when i went to junior college there. I was born and raised in Arvada Colorado. Arvada is a suburb of Denver and only twenty minuets away. I think that Lamar is too small of a town and I think that Denver is too big of a town. I would not want to spend the rest of my life in either of those towns. I could see my self living in a town the size of Grand Junction.
The next reason that i like the town of Grand Junction is due to the fact that of all the outdoor activity that you can do. There is both mountains, lakes and dessert in Grand Junction. All this variety makes it easy to have lots of different activities that they can do. In the mountains you can do many summer and winter sports. the winter sports you can do are skiing, snow boarding, snow shoeing, and cross country skiing. some of the summer activities you can do are mountain biking and hiking. In the dessert you can ride dirt bikes, go shooting, and camping. At the many lakes you and go fishing, water skiing, and boating. I really like the outdoors and Grand Junction has lots of thing to do outdoors such as, hiking, fishing, camping, climbing, hunting, and many more.
There is also lots of good sights to see here, for example the monument is just one of the many. There is a good amount of stores and restaurants here. There is many large chain restaurants as well as home town style restaurants. There is also a mall in Grand Junction which has many well known department stores. In Grand Junction there is also lots of its own home town stores. This is a good thing because in really small towns there is no selection of a place to shop. There is very few options. In Grand Junction you have lots of variety to choose from.
Another good thing about Grand junction is the mild climate. The weather is really nice most of the year. It does not get to hot in the summer months. It also does not get to cold in the winter months. The weather has its highs and lows at times. For the most part the weather stays in the middle range of temperatures. This also allows you to be out doors more. This is a good thing if you like the outdoors.
I did not know very much about Grand Junction until I came here for school. I came here for school last fall. I had only been to Grand Junction a couple of times to play baseball tournaments when I was in little league. Since I am in school and playing baseball I really don’t have much time to experience much of the Grand Junction and the surrounding areas. Once I am done with school and baseball I can not wait to see what more Grand Junction and its surrounding areas have to offer. I really like the school here. I have made lots of good friends in Grand Junction. There are lots of really good and fun people to hang out with here. The people the are from here are very nice people.
There is lots of fun stuff to do with and around Mesa State College. I attend lots of the sporting events as well as some of the events that are put on by the college. I enjoy supporting the other sports programs that we have at Mesa State College. I go watch football games, basketball games, volleyball games, soccer games and softball games. I like doing any thing that has to do with sports.
There are many more sports that the college participates in that can be watched. All of these games are a reasonable price to attend. If you have not been to one of these events I suggest that you attend an event that interests you. There is lots of sporting events that take place in Grand Junction. One of the major sporting events that goes on in Grand Junction in the junior college world series. This event brings people from all over the county to come play and watch baseball. I have been to this event and every game that takes place comes close to selling out. Everyone from the Grand Junction that has an interest in sports attends this event. This event is held and Stocker stadium. The price to attend these games is also a very good deal. This event alone brings lots money to the city.
There are very good hotels to stay at when you come visit this event or any time you come to visit. There is also an air port in Grand Junction. This makes it very easy to come to Grand Junction from were ever you are coming from. This way you don’t have to drive through the mountains to get here. There are mountains surrounding Grand Junction so any way that you would have to drive here you would have to come through the mountains. There is a small town feel with a little larger town. I can see lots of different types of people wanting to come visit this Grand Junction. There is many different things that you can do when you come to visit Grand Junction.

Rape Research
What are public perceptions of this theme?
When rape is mentioned in the media it normally reports on a brutal rape case that took place in an unfamiliar place, late at night, and that was committed by a minority. These are the cases that are most reported, but there are other cases that are much different and not as gory.
What is the problem?
The problem with this issue is that people only think that raps can take place in a dark ally at night by a minority. When this is not true. People tend to not think that they are not in danger in the middle of the day, when there are people around, and when they are not around a minority group. These people tend to not be prepared and let their guard down and this is when they are in the most danger.
Who is affected?
Really any one can be affected by the act of rape. The most common are younger women. Overall women in general are more affected by rape but a man can be raped as well.
What are the causes?
Rape can cause many unwanted things. Such as unexpected pregnancy and every thing that goes along with this. For example abortion. Another problem is STD’s that can be transfered. There can also be physical pain as well as mental pain that one goes through.
Various statistics related to topic?
4 in 10 take place at the victim's home
2 in 10 take place at the home of a friend, neighbor, or relative
1 in 12 takes place in a parking garage
43% of rape occurs between 6 p.m.-midnight
33% between 6 a.m.-6 p.m.24% between midnight and 6 a.m.
1 in 4 women are rapped in the U.S.
sexual assault in the U.S. happens every two minutes
57% of rapes happen on dates
50% of rapes occur only one mile from the victim’s home.
38% of rapists are a friend
28% are an intimate partner
7% are a relative of theirs.
95% of rapists are of the same ethnic background as the person who gets rapped
52% of rapists are white males.
73% of rape victims know their aslant
What are the cultural and social circumstances?
This topic is viewed by our cultural that everyone has the right to their own body. Rape is a violation of someone’s body. Everyone in america has the right to say no to someone that they don’t want to touch them.
Why is this an issue?
This is an issue because there is a very large number of people still becoming victims of rape every day. If people were more aware of ways and situations that lead themselves to becoming victims then they could be pre pared.
Who are the major organizations working for this cause/topic, and how do they promote themselves?
RAINN, which stand for rape, abuse, and incest, national, network. This is the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization. They provide help, info, and ways to get involved in prevention. They use the internet and work with local rape crisis centers which are located across the US. There are also Campus outreach services. These are located on high school and college campuses. They provide information and help for students on campus for easy access.
Gillete

1)What is the purpose of the ad your bringing in?
The purpose of this ad is to introduce a new body wash for men. This body wash is better than other products because it not only cleans your body it hydrates your skin as well. This ad’s intentions are to make you buy this product.
2)Who is the intended audience?
The intended audience of this product would be men. I would say that any age man that would like his body wash to clean and hydrate his skin at the same time. I think that most likely age range to buy this product would be between 18 and 30.
3)What does the advertisement look like?
The advertisement has an image of a man using the the product. The image takes up most of the page. At the bottom of the page there is an image of the product as it would appear in the store. I think that this is very effective because if some one saw this ad and wanted to go buy the product they would have a reference and know what they were looking for. The the right of the product is a short description of the the product is and what is so good about it. In the very bottom right corner is the company logo and slogan. Where the text is located there is a gradient band so the text is not lost in the image. This band is placed over the image. The colors of the product are used in the though out the entire ad. The colors in the ad are very masculine colors. This was a good choice because of the target audience being men.
4)How does the visual and textual content of the ad work together to create a persuasive argument?
These two work together very well. the text is al white and placed on different color backgrounds to emphasize the more important parts. As well as the use of different sizes of text. The text is all located on the gradient band that was placed on top of the image this helps the visibility of it as well as separates it from the image.
5)Which of Neumeier’s Seven levels of communication are prominently used in this ad?
I think that one law that works good with this ad is sensation because this gives the viewer a sensation of being fresh and clean. The colors help give this feeling. The other law that works well is identification. Any one that would be interested in this product would recognize the brad. Gillete as made good men’s products for many years.
6)What are the cultural values promoted in this advertisement?
One cultural value that could is being promoted is the is ad is being in good shape and having good hygiene. In our cultural people are looked down on if they do not have good hygiene. They also used a man that was in good shape which would lead you to believe that if you use this product that you can have a body like him.
7)What works or doesn't work about this advertisement?
I think that every thing about this ad works well. The text in somewhat of a text box works well. Also the colors that were used work well together.
Nautica

1)What is the purpose of the ad your bringing in?
The purpose of the this ad is to sell Nautica products. The ad is wanting the viewer to visit their web page to buy their products.
2)Who is the intended audience?
I think that the intended audience of this ad would be middle aged men. Maybe businessmen that are looking for high quality and more expensive clothes.
3)What does the advertisement look like?
This ad is very simple. It shows a man in a suit walking towards the viewer. The man is in mid stride with one hand in his pocket. Along the bottom is the brad name in a san serif type face in white. In a smaller size of the same type face it gives the web site for the viewer to visit. The colors in the ad a very natural.
4)How does the visual and textual content of the ad work together to create a persuasive argument?
The image and txt work very well together they are both natural colors. This makes it ad very easy on the eyes to look at. The suit and man that is wearing the suit are both clean cut. The text matches this with the sharp edges of the sand serif type face that it is.
5)Which of Neumeier’s Seven levels of communication are prominently used in this ad?
Perception could work in this design because of the movement that is created with the man walking in mid stride. Sensation could also work because the ad uses an attractive person which might make the person think that if they wear this brand of clothes that they will look like the man in the ad.
6)What are the cultural values promoted in this advertisement?
I think that a cultural value of this ad would be the fact that in our society people tend to dress for success. If you wear their product you will become a successful person.
7)What works or doesn't work about this advertisement?
I think that this an successful ad and every thing in this add works well together. Their are really only two elements the text and a single image. It is a simple and straight to the point ad.
Patron

1)What is the purpose of the ad your bringing in?
The purpose of this ad is to get the viewer to purchase their product. They are trying to get you to drink their brad of tequila over all the other brands. The ad is telling you that their product is “simply perfect”.
2)Who is the intended audience?
The intended audience of this product is for a person that is of legal age to drink alcoholic beverages. Specifically the ones that prefer to drink tequila.
3)What does the advertisement look like?
This is a very simple ad. The ad consists of very little text and a image of the product. The image of the product is located in the center of the page along the bottom. At the top of the page there are two squares that are the same right next to each other. In one square is the word “zig” and the the other “zag”. Under the two squares the text reads “some perfection is debatable.”. To the right of the bottle the text reads “some is not.”. Then “made by hand from 100% blue agave. The world’s #1 ultra-premium tequila.” Below that and alined a little further to the right is says “simply perfect” and gives the web sight that you could find this product at. This text is in orange and when the rest of the text is in black. The ad is on a white background. At the very top of the page there is a very light gray water mark of a pattern that runs across the top of the page.
4)How does the visual and textual content of the ad work together to create a persuasive argument?
The text and the image work well together. The text at the top of the page shows something that contrasts with the image at the bottom of the page. This also explains the text that was chosen for this piece. The design and text work well together. This ad also works good because the product have a very recognizable image and that is that part of the ad that your eye sees first.
5)Which of Neumeier’s Seven levels of communication are prominently used in this ad?
Sensation is one of the laws that would work for this ad because some people can associate drinking tequila with a pleasant feeling. Along with this same reason the law of Emotion fits for this ad. The text in this ad requires some intellect. I also think that identification would also work in this ad because patron is a well recognized product. their square bottle with out the label would still be known as patron.
6)What are the cultural values promoted in this advertisement?
The cultural values that this product would be promoting would be drinking. It would be targeting cultures that like to drink tequila.
7)What works or doesn't work about this advertisement?
I believe that this ad works well. the only way that this ad would not work good is if the person viewing the ad was not intelligent and did not understand what the text was saying.
